The question we are asked most often is: how many many face masks do I need for my team?
If you're planning to reopen your business or resume your operations in the coming days and weeks, you will need to give your team confidence that their safety and health is your priority. Providing a safe workplace environment is crucial as we rebound from the impact of the coronavirus.
Here's how you should calculate the face masks you need for your team:
Let assume you have 10 people on your team (including employees, contract workers, interns, etc.).
You can assume that each team member will use 2 face masks on average per day.
You will need 100 masks per week assuming a 5-day work week (10 team members x 2 face masks x 5-day work week).
Let’s also assume you have 10 visitors at your place of work per week (between deliveries, janitorial staff, business contacts, landlord/tenants, etc.). So add 10 additional face masks to your 100 mask total. You’re now at 115 masks
We advise our clients to purchase for at least 1 month of need, so based on the example above, your monthly need is 495 masks (or 500 when you round up).
If you have 20 people on your team, simply double 500 and you arrive at your monthly need of 1,000 face masks. If you have 100 people on your team, your monthly is 5,000 face masks. If you have 1,000 people on your team, your monthly need is 50,000.
Each organization is different and needs will vary depending on your type of operations, the frequency of interaction between team members and the number of visitors entering your workplace on a daily basis.
